Carol's talent in playing the game was nurtured by her father, George, now a retired life member of the PGA, so Carol virtually grew up in a golf shop. Carol played college golf at the University of Georgia, graduating in 1984 with a B.A. in Psychology. After a few years playing the Women's Florida Mini-Tour and one attempt at LPGA Tour Qualify, she chose to join the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Membership in 1988. Carol received her Class A status in 1992, and achieved Master status in 2010.
While Carol has built most impressive credentials as a top-ranked golf instructor, she has served the industry at private, public and resort facilities as an assistant professional, head professional and golf shop manager. After many years at City Club Marietta (Georgia), Carol is currently the Director of Golf Instruction at the Kiawah Island Club, in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, joining the Kiawah team in July, 2004.
Besides her demanding schedule at the Kiawah Island Club, Carol is active in corporate golf and motivational outings, LPGA programs, seminars and workshops. Carol has served as host for many LPGA learning programs, and was a National Evaluator for LPGA Practical Test Sites for 8 years. She is currently serving as President of the LPGA Southeast Section for Teaching and Club Professionals, elected in 2010, and sits on the LPGA Executive Committee. She graciously donates her time and lessons to local charity and school events in the Charleston area.
Carol has contributed to many golf publications, including GOLF Magazine, Golf Digest, served on the instruction panel for Golf For Women Magazine, and has appeared on various occasions on The Golf Channel's "Golf Academy Live" with Mike Ritz and on "Your Game Night" with Kelly Tilghman. Carol is a member of the NIKE Golf Swoosh Elite staff and serves on NIKE Golf's Women's Advisory Board. Carol's first book, "Golf's Abundant Elements" will be published this summer.
